Open Question: seeing my (?)girlfriend after a 5 month break?

We both probably changed a lot these past 5 months, we went out for about a year, We're both in college now, she's in California and i'm in Connecticut, I'm flying home for Thanksgiving break to see my family and to see her, we took a break from each other, but we never really broke up, I'm seeing some girls in college but I don't want to get serious or date anybody new and I still feel like I love her, but we both have changed a lot, what do you think of a long distance relationship? We both agree that it would not work in the best terms, but I love her with all my heart. The only problem is the distance and the new people around us.
